Vellore fort Delivery co-location.

Letter sent to the CPMG, TN Circle by Shri. C. Gnanasekaran Ex. MLA, Vellore is published here.

From

    C. Gnanasekaran,
    Ex. MLA,
    Vellore Assembly Constituency,
    Vellore – 632 009.

To
     The Chief Postmaster General,
     Tamilnadu Circle,
     Chennai - 600 002.

Madam,

It was shocking to hear that the Delivery establishment of Vellore Fort Post Office Vellore 632 004 has been co-located with Vellore H.O, which was already functioning in a building owned by the Department.

Vellore Fort Post Office is situated in the heart of the city amidst business areas like Long Bazaar, Main Bazaar, Gandhi Road, Mundy Street, Katpadi Road New Bye pass Road and old Bye pass Road.

Most of the Banks, Central and State Government Offices, and other bigger private institutions like CMC Hospital, Jos Alukkas jewellery, Arabic college comes    under the delivery jurisdiction of Vellore Fort Post Office.

Besides commercial institutions, bigger residential areas such as Thottapalayam, Srinivasa Nagar, Hazarath Makkan and Balaji Nagar comes under the delivery jurisdiction of Vellore Fort Post Office. Majority of the people residing at this area belongs to down trodden community. They have been put to much hardship.

Regular customers of the Vellore Fort Post Office like Banks CMC Hospital and other bigger institutions are having Post Box facility. Now they have been forced to go to Vellore H.O to collect their letters.

In this situation it is not known that what forced the Vellore Postal Administration to co- locate the delivery establishment of Vellore Fort Post Office with Vellore H.O, which was already functioning in a departmental building.

Hence it is requested to relocate the delivery establishment of Vellore Fort Post Office to its original place and to restore the public service.

Your immediate response in this matter will be highly appreciated.
